A friendly resting placeEdit
The party arrives at the small village of Makston. Since there is no inn they decide to spend the night at church. Jhakri tries to heal the local boy called little Jimmy who has problems with his legs, but it goes rather awkwardly. Next day Alice sees Karla showing her baby and chatting with the priest. Alarmed she goes to tell this to Victarian, who rushes into the church. From there they learn that the villagers are actually on their side, as no one is interested in betraying them to the Voraci, there are other children in the village too and the villagers hate the Voraci. The priest offers them the advice of the best hunter of the village next day. The hunter points out that the fjords to the north east should be a route to the east where they might go, as Voraci presence is low there. He also warns the group of the terrible beasts lurking in the grasslands on their way east.
Loss of a ComradeEdit
As they start to journey north east, the party sees a basilisk nearby. They try to ride by unnoticed, but the creature spots them and starts waddling towards them. Jhakri casts invisibility on the party and tells the horses to run away. The horses flee terrified, though Largos pony meets the basilisks gaze by accident and is turned to stone. The companions assault the basilisk surprising it, but they have to fight with their eyes closed. The basilisk manages to kill Alice with a fierce claw swipe, ripping her torso open. Victarian and Largo continue to rain down their hits, and Jhakri manages to finish the creature with his dust devil spell. The party gathers sadly around the corpse of Alice and bury her.
Arriving to Farrow, Victarian goes to sell Alice's sword. While they are spending time at the inn, Largo spots his old friend from the past called Smee. Smee offers to join the group, as he is currently running from trouble.
