  • What is the policy on adding data from wikipedia as long as wikipedia is cited(referenced)?  There is a handful of data on different dragons I was looking to add. (For example) One could be a new page dedicated to breath weapons that along with just a short blurb could have info from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_(Dungeons_%26_Dragons)

    I got confirmation from Jr_Mime a member of wikia's VSTF that a simple citation of the wikipedia page is needed or you can use the Wikipedia/doc template.

    Alot of info could be added to the languages page as well that exists on wikipedia

    • Hm, what information are you looking to add exactly? We're just wary of padding the wiki with unnecessary pages - especially rules that might very well conflict between 2nd Edition and 5th Edition.

      It is fine to reference data from wikipedia, though, so (as long as it is not ruleset confliction or something which might be a page consisting of 2 - 3 lines or entirely unimportant) feel free to integrate that if you feel it is worth it. We'll occasionally do a look over of pages and if they are valuable to the wiki - especially over the next few weeks - as well as be putting up a page posting policy soon to clarify all of this.

      Thanks for asking! I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  • I feel I'll have a handful of upcoming questions regarding some upcoming edits / adding to the Original Rollplay Series.  Do you think me creating a "Original Rollplay Series" topic in the help desk portion of the forum would be best?  I'm hesitant to flood the admin's message walls with each question or flooding each wiki page's comments section with the questions.

    Posting this to both you and Weesiwel

    • Ah, thanks for this. Yes I think that would be best, haha, keep it all in one neat spot rather than obscur message walls :p

  • I feel like you should update the theme to be Solum and green as such. I don't know if the wiki can be renamed but it might as well be called Rollplay Solum as the information is relevant to all shows that take place in Solum and not any of the others such as West Marches or R&D.

    • Also posted some stuff regarding categories to sort out before in a sandbox page linked on my user page. Also you have an sysop who is doing nothing currently. Hoping to update some of the wiki though not summaries mostly characters etc.

    • Hm, I will investigate renaming the wiki. Fox McGee has indeed been inactive and the wiki needs sysops quite badly or it will just slowly die. I hope you are able to make more use of sysop than he did

      I will look into reworking the theme - it shouldn't be a difficult task really and should be done before the week is out if my time isn't leeched away as usual. What do you think we should make of those shows? I have not had the time or opportunity, really, to watch Solum or the spin offs so you would need to be the one to make the call on that really. I will take a look at your sandboxes.

      Let's clean this place up :)

    • I have created a group chat which I will sit in for awhile. Hope to see you  on there and we can work this out a bit better.

  • Hi, I'm the person who suggested those fixes on stackoverflow. I'm posting this here as well because stackoverflow doesn't notify people about new answers/comments until 3 hours afterward... Here is my reply:

    Hmm, considering all the extra stuff they added, you might be best off doing this:

    Add this to MediaWiki:Wikia.js:

    $('body').removeClass('background-not-tiled background-dynamic');

    And then replace the first block in MediaWiki:Wikia.css with this:

    html { background: url("http://i.imgur.com/Vb4KDsz.jpg") no-repeat fixed center center / cover #000; }
    body { background: none; }

    It may seem kind of unnecessary to use javascript but trust me, it's much easier than re-styling about 20 new selectors in the CSS.

  • i have no idea where else to post this but it would be kinda neat if someone made a list of all the random, named Taverns/Inns/Bars that the DM has mentioned..

  • Tried a more simple look with the royal blue pattern and white/black good/evil theme for the text.  Found a way to use larger sized backgrounds, goto this page:

    http://rollplaydnd.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Wikia.css

    And add this to the CSS:

    body.mediawiki {
    background: url("http://i.imgur.com/mpa8JXe.jpg") no-repeat fixed center top;
    }

    Lemme know what you think.
